A lightweight app underpinned by heavyweight numerical processing, this is a Scientific Calculator in Portrait mode, and a Statistical calculator in landscape mode.
The Scientific Calculator includes the Gamma function, incomplete Gamma function, error and inverse error functions, least common multiple (lcm) and greatest common divisor (gcd) operations, on top of the usual scientific operators.
The Statistical Calculator includes a CDF/inverseCDF calculator for 19 probability distributions and yields close to double precision accuracy. The distributions are selectable using the left/right swipe gesture, with the corresponding probability density equation displayed.
The following distributions are supported:-
(1) Beta
(2) Binomial
(3) Cauchy-Lorenz
(4) Chi-squared
(5) Exponential
(6) F-distribution
(7) Gamma
(8) Gaussian
(9) Geometric
(10) Hypergeometric
(11) Laplace
(12) Logistic
(13) Log-normal
(14) Pareto
(15) Pascal
(16) Poisson
(17) Rayleigh
(18) Student-t
(19) Weibull
The landscape mode Statistics calculator also includes a statistical tests and random number generator facility, with an easy to use data entry method:-
(1) Mann-Whitney U test
(2) Unpaired Students t-test
(3) Wilcoxon Signed-Rank test
(4) Paired Students t-test
(5) Linear Regression
(6) Spearmans Rank Correlation test
(7) Pearson Correlation test
(8) Shapiro-Wilk test for Gaussianity
(9) Chi-squared test
(10) Bartletts test
(11) Kruskal-Wallis test
(12) One-way ANOVA test - includes post-hoc analysis for significant result
(13) Two-factor ANOVA test
(14) Small sample hypothesis test
(15) Single dataset analysis
(16) Uniform Random Number Generator
You can import a two column CSV file as an email attachment into the statistical tests facility, for up to 10,000 samples for tests (1) to (9), (14) and (15). For tests requiring multiple datasets - tests (10) to (12) - you can import up to 100 datasets, each dataset comprising up to 100 samples. For the two-way ANOVA test (test (13)), each of the two factors can have up to 10 options/categories, and each dataset can have up to 100 samples.
The app would be useful for those knowledgeable in statistics in the financial and medical sectors, as well as scientists interested in the probabilistic modelling of physical phenomena. Practitioners in the Social Sciences field, such as Psychology, will find many of the statistical tests useful.
